PostSubject: Re: 10 Ways to Become Fit   Sat Aug 25, 2012 6:20 pm

Now Flora lets be fair,

These posts tend to meander something fierce often straying into something completely different from the original post. It has long passed just 10 ways to become fit and to me the be fit part means strong and healthy not good looking. As a matter of fact I was born cute and I have the baby pictures to prove it. L.O.L. Not that the Army cared. They just wanted me in good physical shape and to be a decent shot.

Now you say you are a fitness professional and I have no cause to doubt you as you seem to me to be a very stand up lady. But all we have in here is each others word on what is and isn’t true. Any evidence that any of us could present in here by way of proof could easily be altered or outright faked by the very same computer used to present it.

Now having been around for a while I have seen a boatload of articles by certified fitness professionals. When it comes to how to do anything related to health and fitness there is almost as much disagreement among them as there is in here on how to properly apprehend a criminal.

Now as good as your qualifications are and I have no reason to doubt you, given some time I bet I can find some folks with equally good credentials that disagree with you. I think it’s why there are so many different programs out there even after you filter out those pesky snake oil salesmen.

That being said have I got a deal for you Flora. If I remember correctly you are already a member on my board. Haven’t seen too many posts from you though. I’m offering should you choose to accept it to create a special section labeled "Flora’s Fitness Fandango" or whatever you want it called where you can hold forth on your method of becoming fit.

You will be large and in charge able to lay the smack down in your section however you darn well please. Even moderator or admin status if need be so you have the power to backup what you say if they get unruly. Seems a good deal to me and the offer is sincere. My word is my bond and I haven’t gone back on it yet.

But there is1 thing you may want to take into consideration. Some free advice from me that will at least be worth what you paid for it. Now it may just be that the finer nuances of your thoughts are lost in an Internet board post, but many times you come off as kind of strident. That can be off putting to folks and if they don’t listen you can’t help them.

So you may want to phrase things a little less Hard Core Drill Sargent and a little more friendley Richard Simmons. Just a thought on my part to help out.

I bring only what the tests teach.

I fight against the old wives tales all day every day.

This is about my teachers, not me.

No matter who is training,
food is protein, carbs, fat.
Nothing else ever.

The unchanging parts are true to all vertebrates on
this ball in space.

UNLEARNING is a big part of the text books and the test.

Ballet has been around for hundreds of years.
It has stood the test of time
and is NOT for health.

Yoga was invented BY the richest men FOR the richest men
in a caste society where women were ( and, often, are ) chattle.

Yes, since Madonna started doing Yoga in 1995,
the fitness profession lowered it's standards to make BIG money.

The standard for being hired at serious places
rejects many of the certifications
like the low-level stuff for cross-fit and Pilates.

We just got a new list for what is considered a crap cert by management,
based on industry standards, and what is acceptable.

Those, mentioned above, styles sell to a group
who will pay to be told that they are SPECIAL!

Verbiage is adjusted.

Like selling one toothbrush to several different demographics
with different words.

I am ACE certified PT and GrX, Evergreen Yoga certified with 34 years experience
in Yoga, 9 times National Press, Quoted in USA Today,
on the Radio fo r3 years with 600,000 listeners five days a week, writing my own stuff
and having 600,000 people checking my facts five days a week.

I am a recognized Expert Witness on the subject of Weight Lifting.

(Pilates cert, resist-a-ball cert, cycle cert, Bosu cert, MAT Intern, Checcti Ballet cert, State Champion Kenpo ( forms ).

More importantly, it is about what you must UNLEARN.

Lots of dumb stuff is still being used, ballet for instance.
Also, there is no such thing as a "warm-up".
You KNOW what a fever is and you didn't need me to tell you that.

PS. heat does not help muscles work.
That is one reason for sweat.

The offer applies to my board. Here I don't have any more power than you do. But everything you say you want to do we can do there. As my board is mostly open, non members can read from it to so you can post links to sections of it in here same as I do.

Flora you saying muscle is the only thing that burns fat yet you study
dance, yoga and ballet. seeing as you dont lift weights im assuming your
300lbs. i believe you put a pic of yourself as your avatar and your
quite skinny, this contradicts the muscle is the only thing that burns
fat theory your stating.

and your saying that food is fat protein and carbs. what about zinc, copper, magnesium, sulphur, potassium,
vitamins abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz, niacin, and the rest of these
useless elements in our food that your saying dont exist.

as for wives tales, i listed all of the ingredient in those foods that
help break down, flush out, absorb, metabolize fat from your system.

i saw something about metabolic rates

VITAMINS AND MINERALS ARE NOT FAT OR PROTEIN OR CARBS.
GOOD QUESTION! THEY ARE NECESSARY BUT NOT IN CLEAR DOSES
AND, MOSTLY COME, SORT OF ENOUGH, IN FOOD.

IF YOU WANT TO ASK IF I RECOMMEND ANYTHING BEYOND FOOD
THE ANSWER IS, "YES". i RECOMMEND THE HUMBLE AND WONDERFUL
MULTI-VITAMIN AND I LIKE REALLY HIGH "B"'S PERSONALLY

as for wives tales, i listed all of the ingredient in those foods that

"FLUSH-OUT" IS A TOTALLY WRONG CONCEPT.
"BREAK DOWN" IS NOT A GOOD WAY TO PUT IT EITHER.
"ABSORB" IS VAGUE TOO.

"METABOLIZE" IS FOR PEOPLE WHO LIKE BIG WORDS.

"Basal metabolic rate (BMR), and the closely related resting metabolic rate (RMR), is the amount of energy expended daily by humans and other animals at rest

THE FIRST PART IS NOT CLEAR.
HERE'S WHY:
THE AMOUNT OF CALORIES AND REPAIR-MOLECULES ( PROTEIN )
NECESSARY TO MAINTAIN THE leeeeeeean MASS,
NOT THE FAT STORAGE IS "METABOLISM".

METABOLISM IS, EXACTLY, WHAT WILL MAINTAIN YOUR LEAN MASS

THE METABOLIC RATE BEING AFFECTED BY DRUGS IS ONE OF THE BRUSH OFF SENTENCES
THAT THE MEDICAL COMMUNITY GIVES TO PEOPLE WHO BELIEVE ANYTHING THAT COMES OUT OF THE MOUTH OF ANYONE IN A WHITE COAT.

WHAT THEY ARE SAYING IS THAT WE ALL HATE FAT AND WE DON'T CARE
ABOUT ANYTHING AS LONG AS WE ARE THIN.

THEY DO NOT DIFFERENTIATE BETWEEN WATER-RETENTION AND
INCREASED FAT-CELL-SIZE.

THEY DO NOT TELL PEOPLE HOW MUCH OF ANY "SIDE AFFECTS" CAN BE MITIGATED WITH EXERCISE AND EATING MORE CAREFULLY.

THEY HAVE TWO MINUTES TO TALK TO YOU
AND THEY DO NOT WANT TO GIVE EXTRA INFO AWAY FOR FREE
AND, MOSTLY, EXPLANATIONS ARE LONG.

(OH! I'M STILL IN CAPS AREN'T I?)

YES, WIKI IS WRONG BUT THEY ARE JUST YAPPING EXACTLY AS THE MEDICAL COMMUNITY WANTS THEM TO.

THE WHOLE CONVERSATION IS BASED IN FLAWED PARADIGMS.

1. ALL FAT IS HORRID
2. MEDICINE IS THE WAY TO HEALTH
3. SHORT ANSWERS ARE THE BEST FOR MONEY
4. BIG WORDS MEAN THAT MY DOCTORS CARES WHAT HAPPENS TO ME

regardless of what metabolism is, it helps burn fat. so if you have a
high metabolism rate you will burn more fat than a person who is jacked
and has a slow metabolism rate.

my buddy is 140 lbs and eats crap junk food and sits on the couch all
day long because he is crippled and he does not gain an ounce of weight.
metabolism is real and it burns fat. so therefore muscle is not the
only factor in burn off fat.

you just said ""METABOLISM IS, EXACTLY, WHAT WILL MAINTAIN YOUR LEAN
MASS"" yet you also say that muscle is the only thing that burns fat.
you're contradicting yourself again or maybe just not thinking things
through.

doctors do scientific tests with placebos and such, you even agreed with
me that alcohol prohibits protein synthesis and lowers testosterone,
yet your denying that certain foods have minerals in the that help burn
off fat. So some foods can prevent you from burning off fat yet others
cannot help you burn it...

your telling me drugs do not effect you in any way?

wikipedia and all the sources on the internet are wrong yet your books are right?

this seems very clear to me
"the amount of energy expended daily by humans and other animals at rest"
in other words while resting your burn X amount of calories per amount
of time. thats so god damn understandable a monkey could understand it.

what about diet pills, they work and burn off or get rid of fat, yet you claim muscle is the only thing that burns fat. They get the ingredients for these pills in.. foods or chemicals. regardless of which, its not muscle.

"HELPS" BURN FAT IS TOO VAGUE.

so if you have a
high metabolism rate you will burn more fat than a person who is jacked
and has a slow metabolism rate.

my buddy is 140 lbs and eats crap junk food and sits on the couch all
day long because he is crippled and he does not gain an ounce of weight.

I WOULD ASK A LOT MORE QUESTIONS BEFORE
TYPING A CONCLUSION ON THE ABOVE.
MANY PEOPLE WHO ARE SAID TO EAT CRAP ALL DAY,
REALLY, EAT A SANDWICH AND A DRINK
AND A FEW HANDFULS IN BETWEEN MEALS.

metabolism is real and it burns fat. so therefore muscle is not the
only factor in burn off fat.

ARE YOU GUESSING OR DID YOU STUDY?

you just said ""METABOLISM IS, EXACTLY, WHAT WILL MAINTAIN YOUR LEAN
MASS"" yet you also say that muscle is the only thing that burns fat.
you're contradicting yourself again or maybe just not thinking things
through.

METABOLISM MAINTENANCE IS NOT "THE BURNING OF FAT"

METABOLISM MAINTENANCE IS THE MAINTAINING OF YOUR ENTIRE LEAN MASS
AND DOES NOT REQUIRE AND IS NOT PART OF BURNING FAT OFF OF STORAGE
OR BURNING FAT THAT WAS RECENTLY EATEN

doctors do scientific tests with placebos

WITH VERY SPECIFIC GOALS AND FUNDING SOURCES

and such, you even agreed with
me that alcohol prohibits protein synthesis and lowers testosterone,

THAT WOULD BE ONE GROUPING OF SEPARATE TESTS

yet your denying that certain foods have minerals
I NEVER DENIED THAT FOOD HAVE MINERALS IN THEN THEM

in the that help burn
off fat.
WHAT RELEASES FAT FROM STORAGE TO BE BURNED ON THE MUSCLE AS
FUEL IS WHAT I LISTED
1. COLD
2 CAFFEINE
3. EXERCISE
4. WAITING 12 HOURS THRU SLEEP TO EAT ANYTHING

So some foods can prevent you from burning off fat yet others
cannot help you burn it...
NO. THEY DO NOT.

your telling me drugs do not effect you in any way?
I STATED THAT THE DOCTORS MAKE SHORT STATEMENTS
WITH OUT EXPLANATION AND DO NOT DIFFERENTIATE BETWEEN WATER RETENTION,
THAT LOOKS FATTER, AND FAT-CELL-SIZE WHICH IS FATTER.

wikipedia and all the sources on the internet are wrong yet your books are right?
THAT IS THE SAD PART. WIKI SKEWS TOWARD GENERAL INFO,
MEDICAL BRUSH-OFF STATEMENTS AND WIVES TALES THAT ARE POPULAR.
THERE IS NOTHING ON WIKI THAT I COULD GET CREDIT FOR READING AND HAND IN ON A TEST.
THE BOOKS COSTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT AND THEY AREN'T GOING OT PUT ANY OF THAT UP FOR FREE.

this seems very clear to me
"the amount of energy expended daily by humans and other animals at rest"
IT'S JUST A NUMBER FROM WHERE TO START.
ONCE YOU GET THAT RATE, YOU PLAN THE REST OF YOUR DAY'S NEEDS.
AT SLEEP, YOU STARTED HERE.
YOU DIDN'T STAY THERE.
HOW MUCH DID YOU EXPEND ALL DAY?
WELL, WE STARTED WITH THE RESTING RATE AND THEN...

in other words while resting your burn X amount of calories per amount
of time. thats so god damn understandable a monkey could understand it.
AND THEN, YOU WENT IN MOTION FOR HOW LONG AT WHAT INTENSITY?

Flora wrote:

NO. I HAD A HEAD FULL OF WIVE'S TALES AND WAS FORCED TO LEARN
TO MAKE MORE MONEY BUT FOUND REAL JOY IN REAL ANSWERS.

you think our foods gives us the proper amounts of vitamins and
minerals,
NO. I DID NOT SAY "PROPER AMOUNTS"
I SAID THAT MUCH CAN BE GOTTEN IN FOOD.

yet vitamin pills can be bought and you even recommend them.

I ONLY RECOMMEND SOME.
THEY CAN BE BOUGHT BECAUSE SOMEONE WANTS A PROFIT.

why would you recommend something that you say we get enough of in our
daily food.
DO YOU KNOW HOW THEY CAME UP WITH THE NUMBER FOR "c"?
THEY CALCULATED WHAT WOULD BE SURE TO NOT GET SCURVY
( WITHOUT CONSIDERING HEIGHT AND WEIGHT), ADDED A BIT
AND VOILA, THEY GOT THE NUMBER.
THOSE RDA'S ON THE BOTTLE ARE NOT SET IN STONE.

you have contradicted yourself like 4 times already.

THAT IS THE UNDERLYING IDEA WHEN DOCTORS only FOCUS ON WEIGHT GAIN AS A SIDE AFFECT,

SEE YOUR OWN THRUST OF ARGUMENT.

YOU AREN'T DEBATING STRENGTH WITH ME.

are you retarded??

you just said this
""METABOLISM MAINTENANCE IS THE MAINTAINING OF YOUR ENTIRE LEAN MASS AND DOES NOT REQUIRE AND IS NOT PART OF BURNING FAT OFF OF STORAGE OR BURNING FAT THAT WAS RECENTLY EATEN""

lean mass = your body weight composed of bones, muscle and organs and no fat.

so if metabolism helps you maintain your lean mass then metabolism burns off fat, because your lean mass is composed of everything but fat. you so just proved me right that metabolism helps burn fat. but seeing as you dont understand metabolism completely and nor does science according to you, it must not actually help burn off fat.

im not debating anything with you, i said that certain foods help break down, metabolize, flush out or in "Vagueness" "burns off fat".

i still have no idea where your comming up with me thinking that if your skinny your healthy, 4 of my 5 tips had nothing to do with weight. or maybe you cant read.

im not reading any more of your shit, your sentence structure sucks to the point it doesnt even exist, your floating off into your own little head trying to argue things that i didint even say and you obviously cant be wrong about anything.

im gonna go debate with my pet rock because he has more of a brain than you.

#15) top 10 fat burning foods- cabbage, celery, lettuce, asparagus, beets, cucumbers, brussle sprouts.. and i forget the rest, but thats why some old lady created google.

not to go against the flow but FAT IS GOOD FOR YOU. this is why animals eat it over the meat, because fat stores alot of what the body needs. There are also fat soluable minerals and vitamins that your body will not absorb if you do not have any intake of fats.

anyone heard of rabbit starvation?

Just a couple of tidbits of clarification here (completely overlooking the arguing going on)

for #13) The "little goodies" are all the essential vitamins and minerals that are depleted the longer they are cooked. This is mainly referring to vegetables (yes, meat also to an extent, but there are dangers there) a nice healthy salad instead of boiled veggies is DEFINITELY a good choice.

on #15) Green is clean - the darker the green the better it is - go with romaine lettuce over iceberg lettuce (which is mainly filler) Spinach is AMAZINGLY good.... So yea, dark green veggies.

Go for the superfoods! These are foods that boost your metabalism and help you burn off fat - Avacados, blueberries, green tea, spinach (see? awesome) are GREAT for this.

yogurt - get yerself some plain greek yogurt, mix some blueberries and maybe a teaspoon of honey for sweetness. Yogurt is chock full of those little bacteria that help regulate our digestive system, which, thanks to all the steroids and antibiotics and garbage that we eat daily actually destroys the healthy bacteria and allows for an overgrows of less pleasant varieties of bacteria to grow.

Now, for the whole fat thing (yes, I did read a LITTLE of the argument) Fat is really not the enemy. There are forms of fat that are actually good for you (I'm talking about in the foods you eat, not the fat on your body) What you want to stay away from are processed foods, sugars, and white foods (bleached flours, white rice, white sugar, etc). Eat your high carbs in the morning - they give you energy, and you can work them off over the course of the day. Stock up on your proteins. Don't be afraid of red meat, but don't overdo it. Keep your red meat servings down to one per day. Enjoy fish and poultry - roughly no more than three servings per day.

Eat 5 small meals a day, don't take in more calories than your body needs, and make sure you are taking in the RIGHT foods, exercise regularly and you won't have to worry about watching your weight. Your body will do that for you.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'LL MAKE AN EFFORT TO BE CLEARER.

ONCE YOU FIGURE EXACTLY WHAT IT IS TO MAINTAIN THE LEAN MASS, BONES, SKIN, ORGANS AND MUSCLE,
YOU HAVE A STAND POINT FROM WHICH TO FIGURE WHAT WILL BURN OFF STORED FAT.

BURNING OFF STORED FAT IS A DIFFERENT PROCESS FROM BURNING OFF FAT THAT HAS JUST BEEN EATEN.

lean mass = your body weight composed of bones, muscle and organs and no fat.

so if metabolism helps you maintain your lean mass
METABOLISM IS IS WHAT MAINTAINS THE LEAN MASS NOT WHEAT HELPS TO MAINTAIN IT.

...HAIR-SPLITTING, YES, BUT THE BODY RESPONDS PRECISELY AND WE DO WELL TO BE CLEAR.

then metabolism burns off fat,
NO. METABOLISM DOES NOT BURN OFF STORED FAT.
ONLY MUSCLE BURNS FAT AND IT IS NOT EASY TO GET FAT OUT OF STORAGE TO BE BURNED ON THE MUSCLE.

1. COLD RELEASES FAT FROM STORAGE
2. CAFFEINE RELEASES IT ( NOT RECOMMENDED...IT'S JUST WHAT THEY FOUND OUT )
3. EXERCISE RELEASES IT ( AND BURNS MORE IF YOU HAVE MORE MUSCLE )
4. WAITING 12 HOURS, THROUGH THE SLEEP CYCLE TO EAT ANYTHING RELEASES IT.

because your lean mass is composed of everything but fat. you so just proved me right that metabolism helps burn fat.

SKIN DOES NOT BURN FAT NOR DO BONES.
"METABOLISM" AND THE "BURNING OFF OF STORED FAT" ARE
TWO, DIFFERENT THINGS.

but seeing as you dont understand metabolism
THE DEFINITION OF METABOLISM IS AN EXACT QUESTION ON THE TESTS.
I HAVE GIVEN THIS LECTURE A FEW TIMES IN CLASS BECAUSE THE WORD
"METABOLISM" GET THROWN AROUND A LOT.
I ASK THE CLASS TO DEFINE IT.
MOST OF THEM COULD NOT.
A FEW TIRED BUT ADMITTED THAT THEY WERE ONLY GUESSING.

I WAS HOPING THAT YOU WOULD ASK ABOUT THE THYROID AND METABOLISM.
THAT IS WHERE THE WORDING GETS REALLY SQUIRRLEY.

completely and nor does science
WIKI DOES NOT DEFINE IT CLEARLY.
SCIENCE DOES.
according to you, it must not actually help burn off fat.

ONLY MUSCLES BURN FAT.

im not debating anything with you, i said that certain foods help break down, metabolize, flush out or in "Vagueness" "burns off fat".

NO FOODS "FLUSH FAT".
I TOOK THAT CLASS TWICE TO MAKE SURE I GOT THE INFO.
THEY GIVE THAT CLASS AT THE YEARLY CONVENTION HERE.
SO, I WAS ABLE TO GET PLENTY OF ACCESS.

i still have no idea where your comming up with me thinking that if your skinny your healthy,

THAT WAS NOT ABOUT YOU.
THAT WAS ABOUT THE MEDICAL COMMUNITY AND MOST PATIENTS FOCUS FOR QUESTIONS.
THERE IS A BIG LOAD OF BAD INFO THAT MUST BE DEALT WITH MOST OF THE TIME.

ONE WOMAN WAS GOING FOR HER CERT AND ASKED FOR MY HELP.
SHE WONDERED WHY THERE WERE A BUNCH OF QUESTIONS ON THE TEST
ABOUT EXERCISES THAT WE NEVER DO ( BECAUSE SHE KNEW THAT THOSE EXERCISES ARE BAD ).
I TOLD HER THAT A BIG PART OF THE CERT IS UNDOING THE OLD INFO,
UNLEARNING THE BAD EXERCISES.

4 of my 5 tips had nothing to do with weight. or maybe you cant read.
I LOVE FITNESS. THERE IS NO NEED FOR UNPLEASANT EMOTIONS.
I AM WILLING TO DO ALL THIS FOR YOU WITH NO FEE.

im not reading any more of your shit,
NO CUSSING IS NECESSARY.

your sentence structure sucks to the point it doesnt even exist,

I SHALL AIM FOR MORE CLARITY.

your floating off into your own little head
I AM NOT INVENTING ANY OF THIS.
I WAS OVER 30 AND QUITE SURE OF MY KNOWLEDGE WHEN I HAD TO LEARN ALL THIS.
I HAD TO UNLEARN EVERY SINGLE THING THAT I KNEW AND LEARN JUST THE PLAIN STUFF.

trying to argue things that i didint even say and you obviously cant be wrong about anything.

I WORK VERY HARD AT THIS STUFF. I LOVE BEING QUESTIONED BECAUSE I DIDN'T KNOW ANY OF THESE ANSWERS FOR MANY MANY YEARS

im gonna go debate with my pet rock because he has more of a brain than you.

INSULTS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN FITNESS

(yes i really have a pet rock)

#12) get some sun- sunlight is the only source of a certain vitamin D

#13) eat raw food- cooking food destroys alot of the little goodies. so when possible and if you enjoy the taste of raw food, eat it raw.

#14) spicy food promotes blood flow, i know curry helps blood flow and helps carry more oxygen to your organs.

EACH VEG HAS DIFFERENT VITAMINS.
SOME BREAKDOWN WITH HEAT MORE QUICKLY.
VITAMIN "C" REALLY DOES NOT MAKE IT.
GERMS ARE KILLED IN HEAT.
SO, IF YOU EAT RAW, WASHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

on #15) Green is clean - the darker the green the better it is - go with romaine lettuce over iceberg lettuce (which is mainly filler) Spinach is AMAZINGLY good.... So yea, dark green veggies.

SPINACH IS VERY LOW IN CALORIES AND MEDIUM TO LOW IN FIBER.
WHAT IT HAS IS IRON.
NEITHER ROMAINE NOR ICEBERG HAVE MUCH MORE THAN WATER.
BOTH ARE DELICIOUS

Go for the superfoods! These are foods that boost your metabalism and help you burn off fat - Avacados, blueberries, green tea, spinach (see? awesome) are GREAT for this.

NONE OF THESE BURN OFF STORED FAT EXCEPT THE CAFFEINE IN THE GREEN TEA.
AVOCADO IS PURE FAT.
IT IS NOT BAD EXCEPT IN HIGH QUANTITIES BUT IT DOES NOT BURN OFF FAT AT ALL.

yogurt - get yerself some plain greek yogurt, mix some blueberries and maybe a teaspoon of honey for sweetness. Yogurt is chock full of those little bacteria that help regulate our digestive system, which, thanks to all the steroids and antibiotics and garbage that we eat daily actually destroys the healthy bacteria and allows for an overgrows of less pleasant varieties of bacteria to grow.

YES, IT HAS GOOD BACTERIA THAT WE NEED BUT
VINEGAR IS WHAT DESTROYS GOOD BACTERIA MORE THAN ANYTHING ELSE THAT YOU MIGHT EAT REGULARLY.
THIS IS, EXACTLY, CORRECT ABOUT ANTI BIOTICS BUT, HOPEFULLY, YOU WON'T BE HAVING OR NEEDING THOSE TOO OFTEN.

Now, for the whole fat thing (yes, I did read a LITTLE of the argument) Fat is really not the enemy. There are forms of fat that are actually good for you (I'm talking about in the foods you eat, not the fat on your body)

IF THE AMOUNT OF FAT THAT YOU EAT IS IN EXCESS OF WHAT YOU CAN BURN OR STORE,
THE FAT MOLECULES ROLL AROUND IN YOUR BLOOD STREAM.
ONE OF THE MOST LIKELY TIMES TO GET A HEART ATTACK IS AFTER A HIGH FAT MEAL.

OTHER THAN A HEART ATTACK, THE OTHER BAD THING THAT HAPPENS IS:
THE FAT MOLECULES INTERACT WITH THE OXYGEN, TURN FOAMY AND IMBED IN THE WALLS OF THE BLOOD VESSELS.
"HARDENING OF THE ARTERIES" IS ANOTHER WORD FOR THIS.
"NARROWING" IS A BETTER DESCRIPTION.
THERE IS NO GREAT FAT THAT DOESN'T DO THIS.

SO, PLEASE AVOID HIGH-FAT INTAKE.

What you want to stay away from are processed foods, sugars, and white foods (bleached flours, white rice, white sugar, etc).

PLEASE STATE WHY.

( OK, I'LL GIVE THE ANSWER! THESE FOODS ARE NOT EVIL.
STARVING PEOPLE WOULD LOVE SOME.

THESE FOOD DELIVER CARBS, JUST FINE. THEY ARE LOW IN FIBER AND VITAMINS.
YOU CAN GET FIBER AND VITAMINS OTHER PLACES BUT IT IS GOOD TO GET FIBER AND VITAMINS FROM FOODS.

Eat your high carbs in the morning - they give you energy, and you can work them off over the course of the day.
NO. YOU CANNOT STORE CARBS AND GET THEM BACK OUT AS CARBS.

THE BRAIN BURNS ONLY CARBS.
SO, AFTER FOURS HOURS, ANY EXCESS CARBS WILL BE STORED AND YOUR ABILITY
TO FOCUS WILL WANE.
EAT CARBS EVERY FOUR HOURS.
EAT ABOUT ENOUGH FOR 100 CALORIES PER HOUR DEPENDING ON YOUR SIZE AND ACTIVITY LEVEL.
...NOT BELOW 50 PER HOUR IS A FAIR GAUGE.

Stock up on your proteins.

NO. YOU CAN'T STORE PROTEIN AND GET IT BACK OUT AS PROTEIN.

TOO LITTLE AND YOU HAVE STRONG CRAVINGS.
TOO MUCH AND YOUR KIDNEYS WORK TO REMOVE IT.
KIDNEYS DO NOT DO WELL IN HAVING TO DO THIS.

SO, THE ANSWER IS: EXACT PRTEIN EVERY FOUR HOURS OR SO.

WHAT IS EXACT PROTEIN?
SOME WHERE BETWEEN 20 AND 30 GRAMS PER MEAL DEPENDING ON YOUR SIZE
BUT VERY LITTLE CHANGES WITH ACTIVITY LEVEL.
ODD BUT TRUE.

Don't be afraid of red meat, but don't overdo it.

YAY!!!!!!!

Keep your red meat servings down to one per day.

YAY!!!!!!!!!!

Enjoy fish and poultry - roughly no more than three servings per day.

A SERVING ( 20-30 GRAMS ) EVERY FOUR HOURS OUTSIDE OF SLEEP WILL DO FINE.
FOR MOST PEOPLE THAT WILL BE FOUR PER DAY IN STEAD OF THREE.

Eat 5 small meals a day,

YAY!!

don't take in more calories than your body needs,

BUT FIGURE OUT WHAT THAT IS FIRST.
DON'T GUESS.

and make sure you are taking in the RIGHT foods, exercise regularly and you won't have to worry about watching your weight. Your body will do that for you.

YAY!!!!!

Processed foods like refined sugar and bleached sugar are what's known as bad carbs. All the nutrients have been processed out of them and they convert directly in to fat. I'd happily post 25 references to this right here in this thread if you like. If you are going to use anything like it go for unbleached flour, brown sugar and brown rice. They at least have some nutritional content. If you want carbs, get them from your fruits and veghies.

The darker the green the more nutritional value they have. Romaine lettuce is high in vitamin A. Iceberg lettuce is very low in nutritional value. Again, I will gladly post reference material if desired.

As for the superfoods. They are named thus because of their high nutritional content. I forgot to add fish to that list- omega-3... good stuff. I don't need to post references to this, however, as I can speak from personal experience. Using the same diet and same exercise but including all of the superfoods I mentioned, I showed nearly a 50% increase in weight loss and energy increase than I did without. That's good enough for me.

As for caffeine, yes, it MAY help burn fat, but it also contributes to lack of sleep, which is a cause for weight gain. Caffeine is one of those just as many bad side effects (low sperm count, impaired long term memory, decreased cognitive ability in men) as there are good(increased speed and endurance, increased cognitive ability in women-weird, right?) So it's best to limit your caffeine intake.

Honestly I don't understand how you can continually contradict every single thing I have read in my researching the proper diet for myself. But hey, if it works for you. I know what works for me and I'll recommend to anyone reading this- don't listen to some avatar on some message board. Do the research. Consult professionals. Find out what's best for you.

... NOT "BAD"...THEY PREVENT STARVATION.

"LOW NUTRITION" IS BETTER.

All the nutrients have been processed out of them

NO. THE VITAMINS AND FIBER HAVE BEEN REDUCED.
THEIR ABILITY TO DELIVER CARBS HAS NOT BEEN REDUCED.

and they convert directly in to fat.

THIS IS NOT TRUE. NOT FOR ANY ONE.

HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP HAS BEEN SHOWN TO ENTER INTO FAT CELLS
MORE QUICKLY BUT, THEY HAVE NOT DONE SEPARATE STUDIES
ON VERY MUSCULAR PEOPLE.
UNTIL THEY DO, THE ANSWER IS UNKNOWN.

WHY WOULD THAT MATTER?
ADDING MORE MUSCLE ON THE BODY HAS BEEN SHOWN
TO REVERSE ADULT-ONSET DIABETES ( NIH STUDY )
THIS DOES NOT MEAN TO GIVE UP INSULIN.
IT MEANS: LIFT WEIGHTS

I'd happily post 25 references to this right here in this thread if you like.

FROM WHERE?
ARE THE REFERENCES AVAILABLE DUE TO SOME ONE TRYING TO SELL YOU SOMETHING?

If you are going to use anything like it go for unbleached flour, brown sugar

BROWN SUGAR IS WHITE SUGAR WITH A TINY BIT OF MOLASSES ADDED - REALLY NO DIFFERENCE.

and brown rice. They at least have some nutritional content.
STATE, EXACTLY THE DIFFERENCE, PLEASE.

If you want carbs, get them from your fruits and veghies.

THIS SENTENCES MAKES IT LOOK LIKE RICE AND BROWN SUGAR AND UNBLEACHED FLOUR ARE NOT CARBS

The darker the green the more nutritional value they have.
NO. IT MEANS A HIGHER PRESENCE OF VERY SPECIFIC NUTRIENTS
NOT A WIDE SWATH OF ALL NUTRIENTS.

YOU CAN'T JUST "EAT DARK GREEN" AND ASSUME THAT YOU GOT ALL OF EVERY THING THAT YOU NEEDED.

DID YOU EAT ONE LEAF OR TWO?
HOW MUCH "A" DO YOU NEED EVERY DAY?

Romaine lettuce is high in vitamin A. Iceberg lettuce is very low in nutritional value. Again, I will gladly post reference material if desired.
CAN YOU EAT ONE SALAD AND GET THE EQUIVALENT OF A MULTI-VITAMIN?

As for the superfoods. They are named thus because of their high nutritional content.

HIGH PROTEIN DOES NOT DELIVER CARBS.
HIGH PROTEIN DOES NOT MEAN THAT YOU ARE ABLE TO ABSORB MORE PROTEIN.

THE WORD "SUPERFOODS" DOES NOT CHANGE THE FACT THAT THE BODY NEEDS PROTEIN CARBS AND FAT
AND NEEDS THEM IN RATHER SPECIFIC AMOUNT AT RATHER SPECIFIC TIMES.

OMEGA 3 DOES NOT SOLVE ALL PROBLEMS

IT IS ONE GOOD THING IN A NEEDED SYMPHONY OF GOOD THINGS

NO ONE IN FITNESS IS EVER ALLOWED TO SAY, "THIS WORKED FOR ME"
WE'D BE SUED TO PIECES.

As for caffeine, yes, it MAY help burn fat,

IT DOESN'T HELP BURN FAT.
IT RELEASES FAT FROM STORAGE TO BE BURNED ON MUSCLES.

RELEASING ISN'T BURNING.
THOSE ARE TWO SEPARATE STEPS.

THERE IS A BIG DIFFERENCE BECAUSE
STORED FAT HAS COMPLEX CHEMICAL INTERACTIONS TO FIGHT AGAINST FAMINE.
JUST-EATEN FAT CAN ONLY BE BURNED OFF TO A POINT.

THEN, SOME OF IT STORES.
THEN, THE LEFT OVER ROLLS AROUND AND CAUSES TROUBLE.

but it also contributes to lack of sleep,

ONLY IF TAKEN IMPRUDENTLY.

which is a cause for weight gain.
YES. TRUE.

Caffeine is one of those just as many bad side effects
(low sperm count, impaired long term memory, decreased cognitive ability in men) as there are good
(increased speed and endurance, increased cognitive ability in women-weird, right?) So it's best to limit your caffeine intake.

YES.

I RECOMMMEND WWW.NUTRITIONDIMENSION.COM.

YES. THERE IS A LOT OF PURE CRAP OUT THERE AND, YES, IT IS HARD TO GET A STRAIGHT ANSWER.

WE KNOW ABOUT CARDIO AND MOST PEOPLE KNOW.
WE, FITNESS, KNOW ABOUT STRENGTH AND MOST PEOPLE DON'T KNOW.
WE, DO NOT KNOW ABOUT STRETCHING AND SAY SO.

WE FIST FIGHT ABOUT NUTRITION, ESPECIALLY WITH THE DIETITIANS.
ONE OF THEM GOT FURIOUS WITH ME BECAUSE SHE IS SURE THAT GRAPES HAVE ENOUGH PROTEIN FOR ANYONE.

THAT IS WHY I AM STEERING YOU TO FOCUS ON THE BASICS AND NOT
THESE STYLISH, WIDE SWINGS FROM ONE ODD FOOD TO ANOTHER WITH NO MEASURING

HERE, i WILL GIVE IT AGAIN:

PROTEIN, FAT, CARBS

YOU CANNOT STORE PROTEIN OR CARBS AS SUCH AND GET THEM BACK OUT AS SUCH.
SO, YOU WILL NEED TO EAT EVERY FOUR HOUR OR SO.

TOO MUCH PROTEIN = BAD
YOU CAN FEEL LIKE CRAP BUT NOT DIE OR GO TO HOSPITAL RIGHT AWAY
TOO LITTLE PROTEIN = BAD
BUT YOU WON'T GO TO THE HOSPITAL FOR A GOOD LONG TIME

TOO MUCH FAT = BAD
BUT WON'T DIE FOR A FEW YEARS.

TOO LITTLE FAT = BAD

BUT WON'T DIE FOR A FEW YEARS

CARBS ARE THE ONE THING THAT YOU CAN ADD MORE OF TO A POINT.
YOU MIGHT GET FATTER BUT YOUR BRAIN AND MUSCLES WILL WORK
CARBS ARE THE ONE THING THAT, IF YOU GET NONE, YOU CAN PASS OUT AND BE TAKEN TO THE
HOSPITAL PRONTO

IF YOUR GOAL IS THINNESS -
FIRST, STABILIZE YOUR DIET AND START EXERCISING.
THEN, STAY STEADY.

THINNESS IS NOT THE GREATEST GOAL IN THE WORLD.
IT IS, MOSTLY, STYLE.

HEALTH IS A BETTER GOAL AND THAT IS NOT ALWAYS THIN.

With all due respect Flora, you have literally begun to nit pick and it is not in the slightest bit amusing. I challenge you to present me with ANY food item that covers all nutritional values. No food is equivalent to a multi vitamin. Your insulting me and any other reader of your post in an effort to give yourself some smug sense of superiority. I find it offensive.

The information you are posting here about the value of refined foods is alarming, flora. I put it to you now to present proof that refined sugars INCLUDING high fructose corn syrup benefits the body in any way that shows it to be more helpful than damaging.

I will concede that brown sugar isn't any better. What I meant to say was unrefined "raw" sugar.

We've gone round before on this subject, and I've had my fill to the point that I have to question your authenticity. I have never posted any information on this subject that I cannot post multiple links to reputable sources for. All you do is contradict it all and cite "books" that you have read.

Enough is enough. The TOS are very specific in regard to people pretending to be professional and giving advice to others in that capacity.

While the majority of advice you give may not be directly damaging to people, it flies in the face of accepted current views on nutrition, and anyone following advice like "refined foods keep you from starving" are going to be confused as hell when their stomachs keep getting bigger.
