Hello Speople,

Just posting to ask you all, seeing as you know, what you think on multiple aspects of food.
First of all, what do you think about Tuna sandwiches for meals, preferably with low fat mayo, nutritionally?
Based on your experience what fruit is the best to fill you up before going on patrol, you know the best fruit or vegetable that quenches both hunger and thirst?
And lastly what do you people think of taking supplements, a friend of mine once told me that a multivitamin helps him keep his energy up (athlete) but I'm not too sure about the idea of needing to take supplements.

PS: Any additional food tips would be appreciated.

What you should eat depends entirely on what you want from your body. What are your fitness goals?

As for pre-patrol, I would not focus on fruit. Get some good carbs (Potatoes, beans, brown rice) and protein in there and you'll have all the energy you need to hit the streets for hours.

All bodies need exact protein (~ 22 grams), about 100 calories of carbs per hour,
a bit of fat and fiber, every four hours.

Every thing else is style

And if you happen to have Irritable Bowel Syndrome like I do, then the importance of soluble fiber needs to be stressed as well.

soluble fiber goes into the blood stream.

Just stick to food with low glycemic index, and you'll be fine. And don't eat to much canned food.

Supplements can be a waste of money, there are problems proving that they are effective. It's useless as a replacement for a healthy and variated diet, because we don't know all the vitamins and minerals the body needs.

Icecream salad
Make a salad Melt some ice cream then pour it on top stick in freezer overnight
Tired of ice cream cones
Try flavored yogurt cones
pour melted mozzerella on top of some cottage cheese cones for a great snack
Make a blue cheese pizza slice up some hard boiled egs for extra flavor and enjoy
Sour cream cones are good as a snack once in a while I enjoy caramel chocolate strawberry and blueberry flavors
Put dill pickle on a stick place in chocolate pudding put it in the freezer for a popcicle surprise that the neighbour's kids might enjoy
Mix a little bit of Kool-Aid with some milk and serve your friends tall glasses of milk juice
Comming in from the cold? Make a big pot of cream of garlic soup throw in plenty of merrichino cherries
Want to show the kids a real food fight? Give them a tossed salad
